36,000 city cabbies overcharged by $8.3M in widespread meter scam

New York's cabbies are taking everyone for a ride. Nearly 36,000 drivers overcharged a staggering $8.3 million on 1.8 million trips through a scam generated by the simple press of a button, officials said Friday.
